BA Psychology, Journalism and Optional English

Course Description
The B.A. courses offered at IIPR are a wonderful blend of classic as well as contemporary subjects, giving students opting for this course a platform to pursue further studies in different fields of their choice. This course is a comprehensive and confidence winning combination of subjects giving students an edge over others in the corporate world.

Course Duration
The undergraduate programmes offered at IIPR follows the three major systems. Being an affiliated college of Bengaluru Central University, IIPR follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS-Semester Scheme) in the undergraduate level.

Durations of the undergraduate programmes is
• SIX Semester (Three Academic years) for the regular Bachelor Degree

Each semester shall consist of at least 16 weeks of study with a minimum of 90 working days. (Excluding the time spent for the conduct of final examination of each semester).

The Bachelor in Arts Degree is spread out over 3 years consisting of a total of six semesters of about 4 months duration each.

The candidate applying for this course should have passed 10+2 / P.U.C./12th or equivalent with minimum of 40% marks aggregate. Knowledge of English is mandatory.

Course Work
1.Course is spread into theory and practical papers.

2.In addition to the theory papers, students will have two language papers i.e., First language-General English and Second language- Kannada/Hindi/ Additional English (depending on their 10+2 Second language).

3. Field work /Extension Activities is compulsory for every semester.

4. Educational trips are organized periodically.

5. Supervised assignments/projects are mandatory in every semester.

6. Students are enrolled to workshops which facilitates skills training.

7. Personal mentoring programs are conducted.


Student who opts for this course majors in all three subjects which are part of this combination. This gives the student the option to pursue their Masters Degree course in any of the three subjects studied.
