An excerpt from the News Paper Article " Manaparivartanege Makkala Jaathre" in a leading Karnataka Daily - Prajavani on December 8, 2014

IIPR supported the "Makkala Jaathre" event marking Children's Day Celebration at the Observation Home, Madiwala organized by National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in association with the Department of Women and Child Welfare, Government of Karnataka on November 15, 2014.

As part of the experiential learning programme the psychology students of IIPR under the supervision of the teaching faculty, trained the children of the Observation Home who are in conflict with law for the event "Makkala Jaathre" on various activities like singing, dance, drama, painting, mime etc. for a period of 10 days to make the event a grand success.

The leading Kannada Daily "Prajavani" brought out an article on December 8, 2014 on this programme. The article "Manaparivartanege Makkala Jaathre" brings forth the various social dynamics of the children who are in conflict with law and how the society could come together in bringing about the change in the social system to prevent children from getting in conflict with the law. The article appreciated the efforts taken by IIPR and its staff and students in reaching out to make a difference in the lives of these children.
