Guest Lecture on Play Therapy by Ms. Sherin Antony

The guest lecture on Play therapy was organized as part of the paper on Child Assessment and Intervention, for M.Sc. Psychology students. Ms. Sherin Antony, a consultant, and currently a student undergoing a course on Play therapy offered in India from abroad (UK) address our students. The session included activity-based introduction of the students, major types of play therapy, the approaches in play therapy, the difference between play therapy and therapeutic play, various techniques and materials used in play therapy and qualities required to be a child therapist. These were also supported by a video screening displaying the importance of play in children?s life. These topics were all blended with activities in between to give the students an idea about how the technique can be applied and to demonstrate the process.\
