Founded in 2003 under the Sri Krishna Rajendra Charitable Trust (SKRCT), IIPR is the brainchild of visionaries like Late Sri Ramakrishna Hegde, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, and Late Dr. Jeevaraj Alva, former Education Minister of Karnataka.
In 2014, the management transitioned to the Franciscan Fathers (Order of Friars Minor – OFM), under the umbrella of the Sarvodaya Seva Sangha (SSS), a non-profit charitable society established in 1967. SSS has been actively engaged in education, healthcare, and community service across India, making IIPR part of a rich legacy of value-based higher education in India.
